Dubbed the King of Amapiano by his fans, Kabza De Small is an award-winning music producer and DJ who has been in the industry since 2009 and is considered one of the pioneers of Amapiano.
While Kabza’s work is well known all over the country and beyond, he has managed to maintain a very low profile of his personal life and very little is known about his family.

What did Kabza De Small’s father do?
In December 2021, a video of an older man dancing went viral on Tik Tok. The video was uploaded by a Tik Tok user by the username @jcarandacooza and he kept addressing the man in the video as Mr Motha.
Besides sharing the surname Botha with Kabza De Small, people couldn’t help but notice the striking resemblance between Mr Motha and Kabza and as expected, many concluded that he was Kabza De Small’s father.
Despite the online frenzy, it’s still unclear whether the man was Kabza De Small’s father since Kabza has not responded to the claims and he has not shared any photos of his father.

Kabza De Small early life and education

Kabza was born on the 27th of November 1992 and his real name is Kabelo Petrus Motha. He was born in Mpumalanga, South Africa and raised in Pretoria.
Not much is known about Kabza’s parents or siblings since he doesn’t talk much about them but in March 2021, he took to Instagram to celebrate his mother for her unconditional support for him.
He shared an old photo of himself with his mother selling CDs on the roadside alongside a current photo with the caption: “The struggle was real, no matter what the victory is certain and she will gain all the glory.”
Kabza’s passion for music began at a young age and he reportedly started writing songs from the tender age of 10. He studied at a high school in Pretoria where he was more focused on music than his studies.
He launched his career as a DJ in 2009 and released his debut album Avenue Sound in 2016 and later started his own label PianoHub.

According to sources, Kabza De Small’s wife is a beautiful young woman known as Kamogelo Geloo Moropa. He reportedly paid lobola for her in September 2021 after which he started to wear two Isiphandla (traditional wristbands) symbolizing that he is off the market..
