Who Is LaConco’s Husband?

Nonkanyiso Conco also known as LaConco is a South African entrepreneur, radio personality and reality television star who came into the limelight a few years ago following her high-profile relationship with the former president of the country.

Here is a look at LaConco’s husband, her relationship with Jacob Zuma, as well as her background and rise to stardom.

According to sources, LaConco is currently not married and if she is then she has kept her marriage very private.

During an episode of The Real Housewives of Durban, LaConco revealed that she is in a relationship with a mystery man that she only identified as Mr Petals.

After receiving a bouquet of flowers from her mystery man during the show, her fellow cast members were curious to know whether LaConco had a new man in her life to which she responded that she was just going with the flow. 

A few years ago, the beautiful LaConco was in a relationship with former president- Jacob Zuma. 

The two reportedly started dating sometime in 2013 when Zuma was still in office but kept their relationship private until 2018 when Zuma asked for LaConco’s hand in marriage and even reportedly paid lobola for her. LaConco was expecting the head of state’s child at the time.

Among the reasons why LaConco’s relationship with Zuma got people talking was their huge age difference. Zuma was born in 1942 while LaConco was born in 1991, that’s a 49-year age gap! In addition to that, Zuma, who is a polygamist, already had other wives and many children.

LaConco welcomed her child- Sakhaumuzi Zuma on the 12th of April 2018. The young one who is currently four years old shares his birthday with his father- Jacob Zuma.

Despite their plans to get married, LaConco and Jacob Zuma’s relationship ended in the engagement state as the two broke up sometime in 2018. 

The real reason why LaConco and Jacob Zuma parted ways has never been revealed but LaConco’s father was reportedly unhappy with Jacob Zuma for not honouring all the marriage rights that were expected of him.

Following her split from the former head of state, LaConco moved out of her house in Zimbali that Zuma had bought for her and moved in with her mother in Eastern Cape.

   

Although she has always said that she understands that Zuma is a “busy man”, LaConco has often expressed her anger at Jacob Zuma for failing to play an active role in their son’s life and being a “deadbeat dad.”

The RHOD star was born on the 18th of December 1991 in Matatiele, KwaZulu Natal. Her parents split when she was only 18 months old and she spent her childhood between KwaZulu Natal and Johannesburg.

She attended Hythorne High School in Woodlands, Pietermaritzburg then she enrolled at IIE Rosebank College where she pursued a degree in journalism and media studies.

Before becoming a reality star, LaConco worked as a journalist. She was a reporter for Independent Newspapers and a radio presenter at Vuma FM and Umgungundlovu FM.

In 2021, she joined the cast of The Real Housewives of Durban with the aim of setting the record straight on her relationship with Zuma.

Besides her career in the limelight, LaConco has also established herself as an entrepreneur. In 2020, she launched her cosmetics brand called LaConco Naturals which provides a range of luxury skincare products.
