Trying to remain content whilst grieving the loss of her mother, Lerato spoke about her battle with Cancer which she unfortunately succumbed to at the age 67.

"She fought like a trooper. She tried her best, but in the end she was really tired of fighting. My mother fought throughout her life. What pains me the most is she never got that break. She was always fighting through life, working through life. Always doing something for other people ... She gave and got nothing in return.

I spoke to her with faith that she would fight through this. I thought she would pull through. I said a prayer with her. I begged her. I pleaded with her to not leave because I still need her. I don't want to imagine life without her. I am because of her. My world doesn't make sense without my mother. I said those words to her," she said.

The late Candy Moloi's generosity was the highlight of the memorial service with friends and family singing her praises.

Her ability to help her community members whilst expecting nothing in return made people look up to her.

Having been in and out of rehab and hospital for the past two years made Lerato want to work hard so that her mother can rest and enjoy her retirement.

"Mama, I release you. Good night," she ended her speech.
