According to sources, Edwin Sodi’s wife (now ex-wife) is Nthateng Lerata. She is a
businesswoman and a
media personality. She is a former employee of Capricorn FM where she worked as a moderator
until 2009.
Not much is known about Nthateng Lerata’s background, childhood and education as she is
quite a private
person and there is little to learn about her from her social media posts.
According to reports, Edwin Sodi and Nthateng Lerata first met in 2005 but they lost touch.
They met
again in 2011 and this time, their love for each other thrived and their relationship
blossomed.
The pair got married in 2012 in a traditional wedding ceremony that was attended by family

Although Edwin Sodi has pointed out that he and his wife divorced, his wife maintains that
they are
married under customary law.
In 2022, Edwin Sodi’s wife had him arrested by the Sandton police after she accused him of
assaulting
her with an aim of causing grievous harm.
According to Edwin Sodi’s wife, the businessman pointed a gun at her in the middle of a
domestic
dispute. In his defense, Sodi claimed that he had found his wife with another man and had
thrown a
cellphone at him but that he didn’t have a gun as accused. He was released on a R 150, 000

Edwin Sodi denied the wedding claims saying they were fake and that he was not getting
