In a recent interview on Touch Central’s Arye and Katlego’s show, SABC 1 sports anchor Mpho Maboi shared her views about marriage and how marriage to her is not the be-all and end-all of a relationship.
The conversation stemmed from the number of people who keep asking Mpho on social media when she’ll get married to her partner, Reneilwe Letsholonyane.
Mpho’s thoughts are that society should not force marriage onto people.
“For me, I feel like it’s not the end point for everyone. Not everybody wants to get married, the whole marriage thing, can we not shove it down people’s throats.
We’ll get married, when we get married, IF we choose to get married. For all I know this (Reneilwe) could be my life partner and I’m content with that.” She explained.
Mpho also made it clear that she’d rather be “single” and extremely happy than to be married because everyone thinks she should be married.
