The Real Reason Behind Simphiwe Ngema And Tino's Break Up

Simphiwe Ngema and Tino Chinyani are two prominent personalities in Mzansi’s entertainment industry who used to date but sadly ended things when we least expected.

Here is a look back at Simphiwe Ngema and Tino Chinyani’s relationship and the real reason why they broke up. 

Even as an ex-couple, these two still set goals and remind us that breakups don’t necessarily mean enmity.

Not so long ago, Simphiwe Ngema and Tino Chinyani were in a relationship and they were considered one of the hottest celebrity couples in Mzansi.

The couple kept their relationship private until Tino broke the romance about their relationship on social media back in 2020.

Besides both being very accomplished in their work, Simz Ngema and Tino are also both very attractive and back in the day, they used to serve some serious relationship goals on social media. They would celebrate each other on their special days like birthdays by sharing the sweetest heartfelt messages.

Although many of their fans were happy about their relationship, a few critics poked a hole at it and were not pleased with their age difference- Simz Ngema is a few years older than Tino Chinyani.

Fortunately, the couple ignored their naysayers and on 23rd September 2020, they welcomed their first child together- a son named Tiyani Micheal Kemorena Chinyani.

The two prominent media personalities broke their fans’ hearts who thought that their love would never fade when they split in September 2021.

Describing their split as “an end to a beautiful love story,” and her relationship with Tino as “one of her greatest experiences,” Simz Ngema took to Instagram to announce their breakup and vowed to continue being great parents to their son.

The couple did not reveal the reason for their breakup and although there were some rumours that Tino had been unfaithful to Simz and fathered a child with another famous actress, both Simz and Tino are yet to address the rumours.

Despite being broken up, Simphiwe Ngema and Tino continue to be on good terms as they navigate co-parenting their son. 

They also continue to support each other’s ventures and it’s exactly how we think breakups should be handled.

Before her relationship with Tino, Simz Ngema was once a married woman but sadly her marriage was cut short following her husband’s tragic and unexpected death.

Her husband- the late Dumi Masilela was a talented South African musician, actor and former footballer.

Simphiwe and  Dumi started dating in 2014 after they were introduced by Simphiwe’s best friend. They were very private about their relationship and only shared the news that they were a couple after they held their traditional wedding in May 2017.

Sadly, Simz and Dumi’s marriage ended just three months after they got married. In August 2017, Dumi Masilela was shot by hijackers while in Tembisa. He was rushed to the hospital where he passed away.

His memorial and funeral services were held at Kempton Park Ekurhuleni in Johannesburg. After his burial service, his three-ton rotating tombstone was unveiled.
