Skeem Saam’s Pebetsi Slams Marriage

Skeem Saam actress Pebetsi Matlaila, popular for portraying the character Mokgadi Maputla has taken to her social media to slam marriage. What’s ironic about all of this is that her character on television is facing some marital troubles of her own.

Chewing on snacks, the star revealed that over the last couple of days she’s been asking a few people about the pleasures of marriage. What goes into it, how does it work and what kind of challenges do you find along the way.

However, the responses she’s been getting, especially from women. makes her think twice about marriage. 

“Bafwethu, a re no jolang mojolo ore nyese. It just seems like a whole different institution. She said.

“The marriage counsellors will tell you oh no. Nothing is to change from how you were when you were dating and to now. You can keep everything the same way. But botsisha a black person and they have nothing good to say about marriage.”
