Zizo Beda’s husband, now ex-husband is Mayihlome
Tshwete. Tshwete is a prominent businessman and former spokesperson for the
Department of Home Affairs and the son of prominent activist and politician- Steve Vukhile
Tshwete.
Zizo Beda and Mayihlome Tshwete met in Durban during Malusi
Gigaba’s birthday party where Zizo had gone to cover the event for her show
Selimathunzi while Mayihlome was a member of the organizing committee.
Their relationship started off as a friendship as they met at a time when Zizo was focussed
on her career and didn’t want a relationship but eventually their friendship blossomed into
romance and they started dating.
On the 11th of December 2015, Zizo Beda and Mayihlome Tshwete exchanged their wedding vows
in front of their friends and family in a beautiful wedding ceremony that was held at
Gonubie Manor venue in East London.
Zizo Beda’s divorce
Although Zizo Beda and her husband- Mayihlome Tshwete seemed like the ideal couple, it
didn’t take long before rumours of trouble in their paradise emerged about two to three
years into their marriage.
In 2018, it was rumoured that the couple had separated and that Zizo spent her Christmas in
Johannesburg while her husband was in Cape Town for the holiday.
After years of letting speculations about their marriage run unconfirmed, Zizo Beda’s
husband of a few years confirmed
that the two were no longer married.
The revelation came after Mayihlome Tshwete took to Twitter to defend his former wife after
videos of her preaching circulated. Bashing naysayers, Tshwete explained that Zizo Bede has
always had the gift and she just expresses it differently.
As expected, tweeps applauded him for defending his “wife” and termed the act as honourable
and it was at this point that he chose to make things clear. Replying to a tweep, Mayihlome
Tshwete explained that he was not a married man and that Zizo Bede was just the mother of
his boy.
Zizo Beda’s children
Zizo Beda and his ex-husband are the parents to a cute little boy called Vukile Tshwete who
was born in 2016.
Although divorced, Zizo and Mayihlome seem to have had an amicable and mature split and
share co-parenting responsibilities of their son.
