Last week I departed from the City of Gold to begin my new adventure in the Mother City. Putting my best foot forward as I stepped off the plane, I was greeted with a violent slap in the face by the toughest wind I’ve ever encountered! I guess that was Cape Town’s way of welcoming me….
Despite the gloomy and miserable weather, which I hear is the norm for this time of year; I really dig the Mother City vibe. The city is made up of an assortment of laid-back people, a wide variety of fashion lovers, dreadlocked brothers, and foreigners from far off lands. Narrow roads and artsy vibes adorn the buildings and sidewalks… I feel like I belong. I honestly doubt I’m going back home. Johannesburg will be fine without me.
Since I am here for the purpose of growing as a model I decided to pay a visit to my awesome agency, Boss Model Management a visit. I managed to sort out my portfolio, meet everyone in the Boss Family and I’m now all set for the castings to come my way.
I won’t lie…the competition in Cape Town is tougher than Mike Tyson’s punches! But it keeps me motivated and I’m up for the challenge. I’m keen to work my tiny ass off and, if nothing comes of my efforts, at least I’ll know that I’ve given it my all. Until then I’m keen for a little adrenalin, prepared for disappointments, and I’ve stocked up on a whole lot of inspiration.
I hope you enjoy this journey with me; I’ll try and make it as exciting as possible. Just keep in mind that not all of Trevor Noah’s jokes are funny and not all of my posts will be as appealing to you as it was to me.
