
The contenders for the 2026 Ballon d’Or have been unveiled, with football’s premier individual honours set to celebrate remarkable displays and achievements from the 2025/26 season.
The organisers published the first nominees on their official X account on Tuesday.
The 2026 ceremony will represent the 70th staging of the Ballon d’Or. Nominees are being announced in a range of categories, including the men’s and women’s awards, Striker of the Year, Young Player of the Year, Goalkeeper of the Year, Club of the Year and Coach of the Year.
The honours will recognise the players, managers and clubs who had the greatest influence throughout the 2025/26 campaign.
The nominees confirmed so far are:
Andrée Jeglertz — Manchester City Women
Elena Sadiku — Celtic FC Women/BK Häcken
Luis de la Fuente — Spain national team
Further names from the other Ballon d’Or categories are due to be announced before the complete shortlist is finalised.
