2026 NBBF/Zenith Bank WBPL Final 8 Set for Lagos Showdown

The lineup for the 2026 NBBF/Zenith Bank Women’s Basketball Premier League (WBPL) Final 8 has been confirmed after the second phase ended in the Atlantic and Savannah Conferences.

The national championship stage will take place at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos, toward the end of September. The Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) and Zenith Bank will confirm the precise dates.

Quick facts

  • MFM won all 14 of its Atlantic Conference games.
  • First Bank, Victoria Queens and Bayelsa Blue Whales also qualified from the Atlantic Conference.
  • Nigeria Customs finished the Savannah Conference with 10 wins from 10 matches.
  • AS SKY Queens, Titans and Air Warriors completed the Savannah Conference qualifiers.

MFM topped the Atlantic Conference after producing a perfect 14-game run. First Bank, Victoria Queens and Bayelsa Blue Whales joined them in securing places in the Lagos finals.

Nigeria Customs were equally dominant in the Savannah Conference, winning each of their 10 fixtures to lead the standings. AS SKY Queens, Titans and Air Warriors claimed the remaining qualification spots.

Defending champions Dolphins endured a dramatic downturn and will not appear at the Final 8. They managed only three victories over the two phases and narrowly escaped relegation from the Atlantic Conference.

MFM will attempt to win back the national crown surrendered last season, while Nigeria Customs continue their pursuit of a second league title. The final tournament schedule is expected to be released by the NBBF and Zenith Bank in the coming days.
