Afriskaut, the African football scouting and talent-identification platform, has trained youth-team officials from across Ekiti State ahead of the fifth Prof Akin Oyebode Cup.
Phoenix Athletics Sports Limited, the company managing the tournament, arranged the session in Ado-Ekiti. It covered data administration and the practical use of Afriskaut, with representatives of multiple Local Football Councils (LFCs) taking part.
The workshop was conducted by Afriskaut Chief Operating Officer Ussa Buggu, who explained how the platform operates and how player data and analysis can support footballers’ promotion. He also outlined measures teams should follow to maintain complete and current player records, noting that reliable documentation can bring players to the attention of scouts, clubs, agents and academies in Africa and other parts of the world.
Phoenix Athletics Sports Limited Chief Executive Officer Bayo Olalenge expressed his appreciation to the Afriskaut team for delivering the programme. He described the collaboration as vital to the cup’s success and its lasting influence.
The organisers believe the initiative will strengthen player profiles and help exceptional participants find routes into professional football, supporting the tournament’s wider goals beyond the matches themselves.
