Nigeria-eligible academy talents Emerson Nwaneri and Ife Ibrahim trained with Arsenal’s senior squad as Mikel Arteta stepped up preparations for Saturday’s Premier League meeting with Leeds United.
Academy pair involved with first team
- Nwaneri, the brother of Arsenal loanee Ethan Nwaneri, has stood out for the club’s Under-18 team during the 2026 U18 Premier League season.
- The young player has registered three goals and an assist across five league outings, but has not yet featured for Arsenal’s senior side.
- Ibrahim, another highly rated Hale End prospect, has already impressed Arteta and previously made his first-team bow.
- The midfielder came on after the interval against FC Kairat in Arsenal’s UEFA Champions League match in January 2026.
- Both players took part in the senior training session at the Sobha Realty Training Centre, alongside a number of the 15 international players returning to the club ahead of the Premier League restart.
Nwaneri and Ibrahim are both available for Arsenal in Premier League competition because they qualify as Under-21 players.
