Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany has left hospital following his collapse during a training session last week, although there is still no firm date for his return to work.
Health update
- The 40-year-old Belgian was taken to hospital on Friday after collapsing while observing a Bayern reserve-team training session.
- Sporting director Max Eberl said on Wednesday that Kompany had been diagnosed with meningeal irritation, which was responsible for the incident.
- Assistant coach Aaron Danks has led the first team during Kompany’s absence and said no confirmed timetable has been set for the manager’s comeback.
Dortmund uncertainty
Bayern are due to play Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, but it has not yet been established whether Kompany will be well enough to take his place in the technical area.
