
Nigeria international and Super Eagles centre-back Benjamin Tanimu has returned to Tanzania, agreeing a two-year deal with Singida Black Stars for a fee that has not been publicly revealed.
The 23-year-old comes back to the club following a stint in Morocco with Maghreb Fès. He is expected to link up with his new team-mates at their pre-season training camp in Rwanda as they prepare for the 2026/27 season.
Tanimu previously began his senior career with Bendel Insurance in the Nigeria Premier Football League before making the move to Tanzania. In the Tanzanian top flight, he turned out for Ihefu FC and later joined Singida Black Stars.
After impressing in those campaigns, he attracted further interest abroad, earning chances with English club Crawley FC as well as an opportunity with Maghreb Fès in Morocco.
The centre-back now faces the challenge of reasserting himself at Singida Black Stars, with the aim of continuing to feature for the Super Eagles.
