Boniface Left Out of Leverkusen’s Europa League Squad Over Fitness Concerns

Bayer Leverkusen have omitted Victor Boniface from their UEFA Europa League squad after head coach Carles Martinez said the forward is not yet fit enough to compete.

  1. Boniface has only recently completed his recovery from knee surgery.
  2. He also returned to Leverkusen following a challenging loan period with fellow Bundesliga side Werder Bremen.
  3. During the latest summer transfer window, Leverkusen were willing either to arrange another loan move for the striker or to sell him permanently.
