Brentford have completed the signing of Senegal international left-back El Hadji Malick Diouf from West Ham United for an undisclosed transfer fee, reported to be worth £40 million ($54.35 million) when potential add-ons are included.
Brentford secure Diouf on long-term contract
The 21-year-old, who represented Senegal at the 2026 World Cup, has agreed to a five-year contract with Brentford. The Premier League club also hold an option to extend the deal by another 12 months.
- Player: El Hadji Malick Diouf
- Position: Left-back
- Age: 21
- Contract: Five years, with a club option for an additional season
- Reported transfer value: £40 million ($54.35 million), including add-ons
Andrews welcomes further development potential
Brentford manager Keith Andrews said Diouf matched the club’s preferred age range and still had significant scope for improvement.
“He fits the age profile we want and has plenty of opportunity to continue developing,” Andrews said. “His first campaign in English football with West Ham was a very strong one, and the qualities he brings as a full-back strengthen an area of the team that is already performing impressively.”
From Slavia Prague to Premier League regular
Diouf moved to West Ham from Slavia Prague last year and quickly established himself as a consistent starter. His first season in England ended with West Ham suffering relegation, but the Senegal defender’s performances earned him a move to Brentford.
