Nigeria international Femi Azeez is nearing a move to the Premier League after Brighton & Hove Albion agreed terms with Millwall for the winger.
Quick facts
- Initial transfer fee: £12.5 million
- Potential overall value: more than £15 million
- Proposed contract: four years, with a one-year extension option
- 2025/26 Championship record: 11 goals and seven assists
The initial payment for the 25-year-old is understood to be £12.5 million. Incentive-based additions could push the final cost beyond £15 million.
Azeez is due to complete a medical before the deadline-day transfer can be finalised. Brighton are expected to offer him a four-year deal that includes the club’s option to add another season.
The Nigerian has reportedly made Brighton his first choice as he moves closer to achieving his goal of playing in England’s top division.
If the deal reaches more than £15 million, Azeez will become Millwall’s most expensive outgoing player. That would overtake the £14 million the club received from Crystal Palace for Romain Esse.
The transfer would deliver a major profit for Millwall, who acquired Azeez from Reading for approximately £1 million in August 2024.
Azeez’s reputation grew sharply during an outstanding 2025/26 Championship campaign. He finished with 11 goals and seven assists before earning selection in the PFA Championship Team of the Season.
Those displays have opened the door to a move into the Premier League. The switch remains subject to his medical and the completion of the remaining transfer procedures.
