Burna Boy Headlines Nigeria’s Global Moment in 2026 World Cup Final Halftime Show

Nigerian music star Burna Boy is set to return Nigeria to the global spotlight with a headline performance during what is billed as a landmark halftime show in the 2026 World Cup final on Sunday, when Spain face Argentina.

The entertainment programme is expected to feature a host of international names, with artists such as Justin Bieber, Shakira, Madonna, BTS and the PS22 Chorus scheduled to appear on stage. The lineup also includes appearances from beloved characters associated with Sesame Street and The Muppets.

The show will be curated by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, while the overall production will be handled by Global Citizen. The initiative says the event is designed to generate funds for educational projects and football-related programmes for children around the world.

  2. The pre-match entertainment will include performances by Post Malone, Robbie Williams, Laura Pausini, Nicole Scherzinger and internet personality IShowSpeed.
  3. Jennifer Hudson is scheduled to sing the American national anthem ahead of the final.
