Cristiano Ronaldo has married his long-term partner, Georgina Rodriguez, during a private ceremony in Portugal.
The pair began their relationship in 2016 after meeting in Madrid. They revealed the news on Instagram with an image showing their wedding bands.
Quick facts
- Ronaldo and Rodriguez met in Madrid and started dating in 2016.
- The ceremony took place in Cascais, west of Lisbon.
- The couple’s five children were reportedly in attendance.
- Ronaldo is Portugal’s 41-year-old captain.
The wedding was held in Cascais, the coastal resort around 20 miles west of Lisbon. All five of the couple’s children were reportedly present.
Ronaldo’s marriage comes only four days before Al Nassr open their 2026-27 Saudi Pro League season.
The Portuguese forward has represented Sporting, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, Al Nassr and his country during a decorated career that has brought him close to 1,000 goals.
He recently appeared at his sixth FIFA World Cup, equalling Lionel Messi’s record for the most appearances at the men’s finals.
Ronaldo had already said the 2026 tournament would be his last World Cup. However, he has not said whether he will also end his Portugal career.
After the tournament, he said he was disappointed to depart in that manner but had given everything he could. Ronaldo acknowledged it was his final World Cup, while adding that he would take time with his family before making any decision and would not act impulsively.
He also stressed that he does not make major choices while emotions are intense, saying that continuing with the national team was not the immediate issue.
Looking back on his 23 years with Portugal, Ronaldo said he had won three international trophies. He noted that the country had achieved nothing before his era, while describing Euro 2016 as the most significant success and saying it carried, for him, the same importance as a World Cup.
The wedding begins another stage in the lives of Ronaldo and Rodriguez, who have spent almost ten years together. During that time, they have raised a family and supported one another through their professional careers.
