Molde midfielder Daniel Daga marked his return to football with a deeply emotional moment, opening his goalscoring account for the club after being cleared following the resolution of rape allegations.
Daga struck the equaliser as Molde rallied from a goal down to defeat KFUM Oslo 4-2 in a Norwegian league match on Sunday.
The Nigerian playmaker netted after reacting quickly to a rebound from close range, bringing the score to 1-1. Witnesses reported that he broke down in tears immediately after finding the back of the net before his side went on to secure the win.
After the final whistle, Daga posted on X: “Unless they kill God. Happy to score the equaliser for the team today.” He later followed up with another message stating, “God over everything.”
Daga had previously been suspended by Molde while the legal proceedings were underway. Once he was cleared, he was allowed to resume his professional career and made an immediate impact on the pitch by finding the key goal in the comeback.
