De la Fuente Set to Lead Spain Through 2030 After Trophy-Laden Run

Luis de la Fuente is reportedly set to extend his tenure as Spain coach through 2030 after leading the men’s side to successive major tournament triumphs.

  1. De la Fuente guided Spain to the Euro 2024 title before overseeing their World Cup victory in July. His existing agreement was due to run until 2028.
  2. The proposed renewal would keep him in the dugout when Spain seek to retain the global crown at the 2030 World Cup, which the country will stage jointly with Morocco and Portugal.
  3. Since his appointment, Spain have lost only twice in 41 competitive fixtures under De la Fuente.
