
The Dynamic Athletics Meet will bring together 693 athletes from nine countries at Yabatech in Lagos on 15 August. The registrations have produced 1,054 athlete-event entries, giving an average of 1.52 events per competitor.
Country representation
Nigeria accounts for the overwhelming majority of the field, with 658 entries, or almost 95 per cent of the total. Benin is next with 28, while Côte d’Ivoire, Togo, Qatar, Chad, Bahrain, Cameroon and the United Kingdom have one entry apiece.
Events attracting the biggest fields
The 100m is the most heavily subscribed event, drawing 482 entries, while the 400m has 246. Together, those two races represent 728 entries, approximately 69 per cent of the overall total.
- The long jump has 76 entries.
- The 800m has 62 competitors.
- The 1500m has 33 entries.
- The 400m hurdles has 29.
- The shot put has 26.
- The discus throw and triple jump have 19 entries each.
- The 200m has no registered athletes.
Wider programme and athlete categories
The rest of the schedule includes 16 entries for the 5000m, 13 for the 100m hurdles, 10 each in the hammer throw and javelin, seven in the men’s 110m hurdles, five in the 4x100m relay and one in the 4x400m relay.
Senior athletes account for 595 entries. The age-group breakdown also includes 24 entries in the U11 category, 82 in U15, 46 in U18 and 10 in U20. Because some athletes are registered in more than one category, the number competing exclusively as seniors is 547.
Club data show that 51 athletes, equivalent to about 7.4 per cent of the field, have entered without club affiliation. That group includes 37 Nigerians and 11 athletes from Benin.

- Sokktan AC has the largest representation with 27 athletes.
- Osheku Athletics Academy follows with 25.
- Altivelis/Team Lagos has 23 athletes.
