As Nigerian football prepares for the Nigeria Football Federation’s Elective Congress in Lafia on September 27, Monimichelle Sports Chief Executive Ebi Egbe has urged the federation not to restore administrators he blames for the sport’s present difficulties.
Egbe appealed to the congress not to return what he described as rejected figures whose actions had contributed substantially to the problems facing football in the country.
He said Nigerians would strongly resist any effort to recycle the same officials while hoping for a different result. In his view, Nigerian football requires new thinking, new leadership and a fresh group of professionals.
Egbe also called for credible, capable and committed stakeholders to be given the opportunity to play a meaningful role in rebuilding the game, adding that Nigerian football was in need of “a bit of fresh air.”
