Ibom Angels ran out 3-0 winners over Pelican Stars at Uyo Township Stadium yesterday, ending the clubs’ two-match pre-season series with one draw and one victory.
Favour Enodumwenben put the home side ahead after five minutes when she met Happiness Agboye’s corner with a header that found the bottom corner. Agboye then doubled Ibom Angels’ advantage in the 33rd minute, racing through before calmly clipping a right-footed effort over the oncoming goalkeeper.
Pelican Stars created chances before the break, with one attempt stopped on the goal line and another coming back off the post. Those missed openings left them trailing by two goals at half-time.
Ogechi Chinedu added Ibom Angels’ third goal on the hour mark, pouncing after a corner was only partially cleared and lofting the loose ball beyond the goalkeeper. The result came after the sides drew 1-1 in Calabar the previous weekend, with both teams using the fixtures to evaluate their squads before the 2026/27 Nigeria Women Football League campaign.
