Alpha-Bravo Integrated Services has agreed a three-year sponsorship deal to launch the Alpha-Bravo Golf Classic on the Sunshine Development Tour calendar, with Lakowe Lakes Golf Club in Lagos set to host the tournament from 2026 through 2028.
Alpha-Bravo Golf Classic joins SDT schedule
- The first Alpha-Bravo Golf Classic will take place from November 18 to 21, 2026, at Lakowe Lakes Golf Club.
- More than 100 professional golfers from across Africa are expected to enter the inaugural tournament, which will offer a guaranteed prize fund of $25,000.
- The sponsorship announcement follows the Lakowe Lakes Golf Classic held last weekend, when Ghanaian golfer Vincent Torgah claimed victory in a sudden-death playoff.
- As a result, Lakowe Lakes will stage two Sunshine Development Tour tournaments only weeks apart.
Tour and sponsors welcome Nigerian growth
Sunshine Development Tour chief executive David Udungu said the increased presence of international-level tournaments in Nigeria would create important opportunities for the country’s professional players.
“Nigeria is steadily emerging as a centre for professional golf, and Alpha Bravo’s management is playing a meaningful role in pushing that progress forward,” Udungu said. “The players will benefit most from this project.”
Alpha Bravo Integrated Services CEO Tonbara Okoria said the arrangement underlined the company’s desire to provide lasting pathways for professional golfers.
“Our enthusiasm for helping professional golf grow matches the Sunshine Development Tour’s ambition to discover and develop talent throughout Africa,” Okoria said.
International standards targeted
Uche Isikaku said the organisers intend to run the event at international professional levels.
“We want to provide a world-class tournament experience, with registration, officiating and other essential areas managed professionally,” he said.
Lakowe Lakes Golf Club representative Femi Olagbenro said the agreement arrived directly after the venue hosted its first SDT tournament and matched the club’s wider strategy. He added that the club is working to draw greater corporate backing for professional golf in Nigeria.
The new agreement establishes the Alpha-Bravo Classic as a regular event on the professional circuit until 2028, while also strengthening the Sunshine Development Tour’s continuing expansion across West Africa.
