Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca has again backed Gianluigi Donnarumma, while accepting that the Italy goalkeeper is aware of his recent errors.
Costly moments despite City victory
- Donnarumma made a significant mistake during City’s 3-2 victory against RB Leipzig on Wednesday, allowing Ridle Baku’s relatively weak shot to beat him at the near post for the German club’s second goal.
- The 27-year-old was close to another embarrassing moment after the interval, when a free-kick sailed over him and struck the crossbar.
- Maresca has not suggested that he intends to remove Donnarumma from the starting role, but he admitted the goalkeeper has been responsible for mistakes that could have been avoided.
