José Mourinho has urged Real Madrid winger Vinicius Jr to add more goals to his game if he is to reach his highest level.
The Portuguese coach praised the Brazilian’s creativity, assists and relentless effort, but stressed that finishing remains a vital element of his overall contribution.
“We saw a different Vini Jr when he knocked us out with Benfica last season,” Mourinho said. “His displays were outstanding, and he scored as well.”
Mourinho believes Vinicius can become even more effective by pairing his ability to create chances and work tirelessly with a consistent scoring return.
The remarks come as Vinicius remains an important figure for Real Madrid, with Mourinho calling on him to recover the goalscoring touch that has previously made him so influential.
