Manchester City midfielder Nico O’Reilly has won the Professional Footballers’ Association Young Player of the Year prize for the 2025/26 campaign.
The 21-year-old received the honour at Tuesday’s 53rd PFA Awards in Manchester after making a major impact during his breakthrough season. The winner is chosen by fellow professional players.
O’Reilly featured 53 times in all competitions, recording nine goals and six assists. His ability to operate in different roles proved valuable, with the academy product making significant contributions both in midfield and at left-back as he became an increasingly important part of Pep Guardiola’s squad.
Recognition had already arrived earlier in the year when O’Reilly was named the Premier League Young Player of the Season. He also played his part as City collected silverware during the 2025/26 season.
He follows Leroy Sané, Raheem Sterling and Phil Foden as Manchester City players to claim the prestigious PFA award. The latest accolade completes a standout campaign in which O’Reilly established himself among the most promising young players in English football.
