
Team Nigeria’s athletics squad is set to compete across track and field on Tuesday at the 2026 Commonwealth Games, with a number of medal contenders aiming to turn strong form into major breakthroughs in their respective events in Glasgow.
Tuesday’s track and field schedule for Nigeria
- The day starts with the women’s 400 metres first round, featuring Patience Okon George in Heat 2. The sprinter will race from lane six, bringing a season’s best of 51.41 seconds.
- Also in the opening 400m rounds, Esther Elo Joseph takes her place in Heat 3 from lane two after recording a season’s best of 50.97 seconds, with automatic qualification the target.
- Nigeria’s only men’s 400m runner, Edidiong Udo, competes in Heat 1 from lane four. He arrives with a season’s best of 44.91 seconds.
