The Nigeria National League (NNL) has thanked Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma for approving Owerri as the venue for the competition’s 17th Annual General Meeting on August 21.
NNL Chief Operating Officer Danlami Alanana said representatives of all 34 clubs, along with board members and other stakeholders, are scheduled to reach Owerri on August 20 before leaving the city two days after the meeting.
Alanana praised the governor for supporting the event, saying the decision demonstrated the Imo State administration’s ongoing commitment to sports development, particularly football.
The AGM will give the league’s officials and club delegates an opportunity to examine the recently completed season, address operational matters and plan for the 2026/2027 campaign.
Alanana added that the NNL board was confident Imo State would offer the right setting for the gathering. He called on clubs and other stakeholders to participate fully, stressing that the resolutions reached in Owerri would influence the league’s direction for the new season.
