Super Eagles goalkeeper Amas Obasogie has welcomed his return to Nigeria Premier Football League club Bendel Insurance, where he first made his name as one of the domestic game’s standout goalkeepers.
The former Insurance captain left Nigeria to continue his career abroad, gaining valuable experience during his time outside the country. He now believes that spell has helped him return to Benin as a more accomplished player.
“I have come back to a place that played an important role in my journey,” Obasogie wrote on Instagram. “Life can take you away in order to help you develop, gain knowledge and build strength. I am thankful to be back with my former club, bringing not only my abilities as a player but also greater experience, ambition and resolve.
“I am prepared to give everything for the badge, my teammates and the supporters. I am home again and ready to get back to work. The journey goes on.”
His arrival provides Bendel Insurance with an important boost in goal ahead of the 2026/27 NPFL campaign.
