Odele-Sponsored Age-Grade Tennis Tournament Ends on a High Note

The fourth annual Age Grade Tennis Tournament, sponsored by Chief Gbolahan Odele, concluded at the weekend after an action-packed competition for young players.

Some of the early-round matches were played at Lagos Country Club before the Adejumo Tennis Sports Centre staged the finals, which attracted a large crowd and numerous tennis enthusiasts.

The event featured boys and girls in the under-12, under-14 and under-16 age groups, with the youngsters producing closely fought matches throughout the tournament.

Odele watched the action with visible delight as the players displayed considerable skill, confidence and determination.

The youth-development tournament was organised by Badejo Sports and the Chief Gbolahan Odele Foundation.

“I am delighted that the event was successfully completed. Watching the young players compete with such passion and courage was extremely pleasing,” Odele said. “The finals were particularly explosive, with plenty of exciting rallies and outstanding moments. I am encouraged by what I have seen and believe Nigeria’s tennis future is very promising.

“We will continue to support the tournament and work to make every edition better. I also thank the children and their parents for attending in such large numbers.”
