Nigerian tennis prospect Seun Ogunsakin is set to extend his promising Grand Slam run as he enters qualifying for the US Open Junior Championships at Flushing Meadows in New York.
The event will mark Ogunsakin’s third straight appearance at a junior Grand Slam, reflecting the teenager’s continued rise on the international circuit.
He first featured at this level during the Roland Garros Junior Championships before moving on to Wimbledon. At the All England Club, Ogunsakin came through qualifying and secured a place in the main draw.
His next task is to produce a similar performance on New York’s hard courts. Ogunsakin will face a field containing several of the world’s top junior players as he pursues qualification for the US Open main draw.
Experience gained at both Roland Garros and Wimbledon has prepared the Nigerian for another demanding test in the United States.
Ogunsakin’s growing presence on the Grand Slam stage is a positive sign for Nigerian tennis and further evidence of the potential he is developing.
