Nigeria’s Olabisi Joseph has been appointed to the International School Sports Federation (ISF) Management Committee, furthering a standout career that already includes a historic first as the organisation’s inaugural female Continental President.
The ISF’s Executive Committee selected Joseph and North Macedonia’s Elena Mickovska for the Management Committee on 22 July. The decision came a day after Joseph’s nomination was officially confirmed at the ISF Annual General Meeting on 21 July.
With their election, the federation has completed a seven-person committee tasked with running ISF affairs for the 2026–2030 period. Alongside Joseph and Mickovska, the group includes ISF President Željko Tanasković, Vice-Presidents Antônio Hora Filho, Youssef Belqasmi and Lianshuai Teng, and Secretary General Hasnae El Ayoubi.
The ISF said the committee’s formation is an important milestone as it sets up its governance structure for the new term. It added that, over the coming months, the Executive and Management Committees will refresh a range of specialised bodies, including the ISF Technical Commission.
Dejan Bojović, Secretary General of the Olympic Committee of Serbia, was present at the inaugural meeting of the new Executive Committee. He welcomed the members and reiterated Serbia’s support for the ISF’s school sport mission.
The ISF also highlighted that its revamped Executive Committee showcases increased diversity across the federation. It noted that, in addition to Joseph, three new female assessors were elected, with Joseph recognised as the first woman to hold the ISF Continental President role.
