Raphael Onyedika made a strong impression as Eintracht Frankfurt began their 2026-27 competitive season by defeating fifth-tier SC St. Tönis 11-0 in Friday’s DFB-Pokal first-round tie.
Onyedika among Frankfurt’s top performers
The Super Eagles midfielder received a 9.1 rating in the match statistics after helping Frankfurt dominate from the opening whistle. The result also set a new record for the biggest victory in the club’s DFB-Pokal history.
Just three of the 32 players involved were rated higher than Onyedika:
- Jonathan Burkardt earned a perfect 10.0 after scoring three times and supplying two assists.
- Can Uzun also received 10.0, contributing two goals and three assists.
- Robin Koch was rated at 9.3 after scoring from his centre-back position.
Frankfurt establish control early
Onyedika, 25, began in central midfield, with coach Adi Hütter assigning him a role that combined defensive protection with helping the team progress possession. His contribution was particularly valuable as the Bundesliga side repeatedly launched attacks against their lower-league opponents.
Frankfurt needed only four minutes to move ahead, when Burkardt headed home from a corner. Another set-piece brought the second goal in the 10th minute, with Koch finding the net.
Ayoube Amaimouni extended the advantage in the 17th minute, while Burkardt completed his second goal of the game in the 29th to give Frankfurt a commanding early lead.
