Victor Osimhen made his comeback on Saturday night, helping Galatasaray claim a 3-1 victory over Kasimpasa in an Istanbul derby.
Osimhen returns in derby win
- The Nigeria international had been sidelined for around a month after picking up an injury during Galatasaray’s previous Istanbul clash with Basaksehir.
- He entered the match in the 77th minute as Galatasaray moved towards a home victory against Kasimpasa.
- Osimhen then set up Mario Lamina for Galatasaray’s third goal in added time, sealing the 3-1 result.
Champions League focus
Osimhen is expected to have a more prominent role on Tuesday evening when Galatasaray host Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League.
The result sent the reigning Turkish champions back to first place in the Super Lig. Galatasaray have collected 16 points from seven games and hold a three-point advantage over surprise challengers Amedspor.
