Victor Osimhen is earning more at Galatasaray than Arsenal’s highest-paid player, Bukayo Saka, highlighting the financial challenge the London club could face if it pursues the Nigeria striker.
Osimhen made his move from Napoli to Galatasaray permanent in May 2026 and has begun the new campaign in outstanding form. He has scored four times and supplied one assist across his first two Turkish Super Lig appearances, performances that have intensified speculation over his future.
Arsenal are believed to be considering a high-profile centre-forward and have been linked with both Osimhen and Atlético Madrid’s Julián Álvarez. However, journalist Kieran Davies has warned that persuading Osimhen to leave Turkey would require a major financial commitment, particularly if the former African Footballer of the Year expects improved terms.
The striker is currently paid approximately £326,000 per week by Galatasaray. That is £26,000 more than Saka’s reported £300,000 weekly salary, understood to be the highest wage at Arsenal. For a transfer to become financially viable, Osimhen might therefore need to accept a reduction in his wage expectations.
Davies said Arsenal would need to consider carefully what package could convince Osimhen to depart Galatasaray, adding that the player is already taking home £326,000 each week in Turkey and would be likely to seek an even larger offer from any interested club.
His overall Galatasaray agreement extends beyond the weekly pay packet. It guarantees him €15 million per year, includes a net loyalty payment of €1 million for every season, and provides an additional €5 million annually through image-rights income.
