Cristiano Ronaldo has added another landmark to his career by becoming the first footballer to score in league competition across 25 successive seasons, after netting for Al Nassr.
The Portuguese attacker was on target during Al Nassr’s 4-0 triumph against Al Riyadh, carrying forward a scoring streak that dates back to his Sporting CP days in the 2002/03 campaign.
That goal moved Ronaldo beyond the previous benchmark of 24 straight league seasons, a record linked to former Sweden striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
At 41, Ronaldo has sustained that run during spells at Sporting CP, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus and now Al Nassr.
The achievement is another illustration of his extraordinary durability at the top level, with the forward continuing to score consistently deep into the latter part of his career.
Ronaldo will aim to extend the mark further with Al Nassr while chasing more personal landmarks, including his long-held target of reaching 1,000 goals in competitive football.
