Shooting Stars Receive Two Buses to Boost Operations and Continental Push

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has sanctioned the immediate provision of two buses for Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan, giving the team a 32-seat vehicle and an 18-seat vehicle to improve its transport and operational arrangements.

State support for continental campaign

  1. The decision was announced on Sunday in a statement from Oyo State Commissioner for Information Prince Dotun Oyelade.
  2. Oyelade said the intervention came after Shooting Stars defeated Tunisia’s CS Sfaxien in the opening leg of their CAF Confederation Cup preliminary-round tie at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta. The campaign is the Oluyole Warriors’ first continental appearance in 27 years.
  3. Makinde has told the club’s supporters that his administration will keep providing the assistance required for Shooting Stars to challenge for continental success.
  4. The commissioner added that the government’s ambition extends beyond preserving the team’s present form, with a broader aim of reviving the former standing of the “Darling Club of Oyo State.”
  5. Oyelade called on the players, coaches and club officials to maintain their concentration and dedication, while reaffirming the state government’s continued backing.
