Super Falcons defender Usani has joined Turkish Women’s Super League club Ankara Büyükşehir Belediyesi FOMGET Gençlik Spor Kulübü on undisclosed terms.
Move follows breakthrough NWFL season
The 19-year-old earned the transfer after an outstanding 2025/2026 season with Abia Angels in the Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) Premiership.
- Usani helped Abia Angels qualify for the NWFL Premiership Super Six for the first time.
- Her displays combined disciplined defending with a notable attacking contribution.
From youth international to Super Falcons
Usani’s journey with Nigeria began in the youth teams. She represented the country at the 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in India before advancing through the national-team structure and earning a place with the Super Falcons.
She was part of the Nigeria squad that captured the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. The Super Falcons defeated hosts Morocco in the final to claim a record-extending 10th continental title.
European opportunity with FOMGET
The move to FOMGET offers Usani the chance to continue her progress in Europe while testing herself against leading players in Turkish women’s football.
FOMGET lifted the Turkish Women’s Super League trophy in the 2024/2025 season, and the club will expect the Nigerian international to add greater strength to its defensive options.
A wider pathway from Nigeria
For Usani, the transfer marks another important stage in a fast-rising career that has taken her from youth international football to the Super Falcons and now to European club competition.
Her switch also underlines the expanding opportunities for players developed in the NWFL, which continues to serve as a route to Nigeria’s national team and clubs overseas.
