Nigeria’s Super Falcons will open their bid to qualify for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics against Comoros, with both matches in the second-round tie set to be played at Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne-Remo.
The two fixtures are scheduled for October 9 and October 13, 2026, as Nigeria pursue one of the two qualification places allocated to Africa in the women’s Olympic football tournament.
Nigeria entered the competition at the second-round stage after receiving a bye as one of the highest-ranked sides. Comoros reached this phase by defeating Sudan 30-0 on aggregate.
The Falcons ended a 16-year wait to appear at the Olympics in Paris in 2024. They will now seek back-to-back participation for the first time since featuring at Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008.
If Nigeria overcome Comoros, they will progress to the third round, where Morocco or DR Congo could be their opponent. Those matches are due to take place between February 23 and March 6, 2027.
The fourth phase is planned for October 4 to 12, 2027, with the final qualification round scheduled from November 23 to December 4.
Only two African teams can qualify, meaning Nigeria must negotiate a challenging knockout path to book their place in Los Angeles.
