Toyota (Nigeria) Limited will stage the Elizabeth Wuraola Ojo Toyota Golf Tournament at Smokin Hills Golf Resort in Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State, on November 13 and 14, 2026, with a N10 million reward available for any player who records a hole-in-one.
Tournament honours Elizabeth Wuraola Ojo
The yearly competition is held in tribute to the late Chief (Mrs.) Elizabeth Wuraola Ojo, remembered for her integrity and her encouragement of women’s involvement in sport. She was the mother of Toyota (Nigeria) Limited Managing Director Kunle Ade-Ojo.
Ade-Ojo said the event represents values extending beyond the golf course.
“The Elizabeth Wuraola Ojo Toyota Golf Tournament is not simply a sports competition; it celebrates heritage, integrity and values that continue to endure,” he said.
Two-day programme at Smokin Hills
The competition will operate with a shotgun format, meaning participants will begin at the same time from assigned holes around the course.
- Professional golfers will compete on Friday, November 13, with play starting at 7:00 a.m.
- Male and female amateur players will take to the course from 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 14.
- A hole-in-one during the tournament will earn the golfer a N10 million prize.
Gala night and women’s recognition award
Saturday evening will feature a gala and prize-giving ceremony for champions and invited guests.
One of the honours to be presented is the “Amiable Woman of the Tournament” award. Established in Mrs. Ojo’s memory, it is intended to reward sporting conduct and help increase women’s participation in golf.
Ade-Ojo said the accolade reflects the principles associated with his late mother and is designed to inspire more women to take part in, and make an impact on, the game.
Latest Toyota vehicles on show
Toyota will also use the tournament venue to exhibit its newest vehicle range at the resort throughout the event.
