
Rebuilding has begun at Umuahia Township Stadium as the Abia State Government moves to upgrade sports infrastructure in the state.

The project will affect Abia Warriors’ match arrangements when the new NPFL season gets under way, requiring the Umuahia club to stage its home games outside the city for the time being.
The team has selected Enyimba International Stadium in Aba as its temporary base for the forthcoming campaign.
Once completed, the redevelopment is expected to provide improved facilities and create a more suitable setting for football as well as other sports at Umuahia Township Stadium.
Abia Warriors will remain in Aba until the reconstruction of their customary home ground has been finished.
