The battle to reach the Super 4 enters a defining weekend on Saturday, when Week 7 of the Nathaniel Idowu Under-16 Football League 2026 brings five key matches to the New Maracana Sports Complex in Tolu and the Nathaniel Idowu Football Pitch in Oregie.
Super 4 race tightens
Young 11 FA sit first after six rounds with 16 points. Fortune FA are second on 13, followed by SC Heritage with 11, while Atico FA occupy the fourth and final Super 4 qualification position on 10 points.
The contest for the knockout places remains closely balanced. Ajegunle United SC also have 10 points, while sixth-placed St. Petersburg FA are only a point behind them on nine. Once the league schedule is complete, the leading four sides will advance into the Super 4 semi-finals and final.
Week 7 fixtures
-
Unbeaten leaders Young 11 FA face fourth-placed Atico FA in the standout fixture of the round. Young 11 have recorded five wins and one draw, scoring 13 times while allowing only two goals. Atico, however, bring one of the division’s most dangerous attacks after netting 19 goals. A win for Young 11 would further secure their position at the summit, while a major Atico result would give their qualification push added force.
-
Second-placed Fortune FA meet fifth-placed Ajegunle United SC. Fortune are the competition’s highest scorers with 23 goals and will aim to stay within reach of the leaders. Ajegunle, level with Atico on points, could climb into the top four with victory and make the qualification battle even tighter.
-
SC Heritage, currently third, take on bottom side Seraphic FA. Heritage have been reliable throughout the season and will look to reinforce their standing among the teams chasing a place in the Super 4.
-
St. Petersburg FA, in sixth, play Bright Stars SA knowing that three points could take them nearer to the qualifying positions.
-
Moore Wins Foundation FA face Divinely Blessed FA in a match with the potential to reshape the middle section of the standings.
With only a small points gap separating several challengers, the seventh round is set to bring high stakes, momentum shifts and possible changes in the table.
There are four Super 4 berths, five decisive games and one title ambition still driving the teams forward as the road to Saturday’s action continues.
