Young 11 FA Clinch Super 4 Spot as U-16 Qualification Battle Intensifies

Unbeaten Young 11 FA have secured a Super 4 berth in the 2026 Nathaniel Idowu Under-16 Football League, while five sides remain in the fight for the remaining three qualification places ahead of the final group matches on Saturday, 31 October.

League pacesetters Young 11 FA maintained their perfect-looking unbeaten run despite having to recover twice in a 2-2 draw against second-placed Fortune FA in the Week 8 fixture at the Nathaniel Idowu Football Pitch. Bamidele Waris and Adebayo Lateef found the net for Fortune, with Daniel Hameed and Quadri Azeez scoring Young 11’s equalising goals.

Also at the Nathaniel Idowu Football Pitch, Divinely Blessed FA recorded a 3-0 victory over bottom club Seraphic FA.

At New Maracana Sports Complex in Tolu, Ajegunle, Ajegunle United SC claimed a 2-1 win against St. Petersburg FA. Adogha Peter opened the scoring in the 13th minute before Onyeabuchi Okoli added another in the 50th minute.

Atico FA overcame Moore Wins Foundation FA by a 4-3 scoreline in a thrilling seven-goal encounter. Haruna Usman, Korede Olabiyi, Ayomide Oyebanji and Opeyemi Ajiboye were the scorers for Atico.

Bright Stars SA collected a 2-1 away win over SC Heritage, with Feranmi Akinwale striking in the 20th and 48th minutes after Norbert Theodore had put the hosts ahead.

Just two points separate Fortune FA, Ajegunle United, SC Heritage, Atico FA and Bright Stars SA in the crowded battle for Super 4 qualification. Ajegunle United will play winless Seraphic FA in Week 9, with a victory taking them onto 17 points.

The leading four teams at the end of Week 9 will progress to the Super 4 Finals, which will feature two knockout semi-finals. The semi-final winners will contest the championship match, while the defeated teams will meet in the third-place play-off.

Peakline Sports World Limited runs the tournament, with sponsorship provided by the Nathaniel Idowu Foundation.
