R&B artist LeAnne has just been nominated for the gsport Style Star of the Year award. We caught up with the glamorous beauty to uncover some of her style secrets…

Congratulations on your gsport nomination for Style Star of the Year! We want to know – what’s your favourite item of clothing in your closet right now?

Oooh my favourite item….I’m a very comfy and casual girl so at the moment I’d have to say it’s my Jbrand skinny jeans from Selfridges in London. You can dress them up or dress them down. Jeans are a wardrobe staple.

What do you think your style says about you?

Style is important because it pretty much expresses who you are as a person. I think my style is self-explanatory – I’m casual, comfortable and not too fussy. I think people can see that when they see what I’m wearing.

How do you keep up with trends?

I think I just take whatever is the new or trendy thing and mix it with some of my older pieces. I mix a bit of the old me and the new me and let it all just mesh together.

How did it feel when you found out that you were nominated for the Style Star of the Year award?

That was a big shock for me! It’s definitely a first because I must say; I’m not the most glamorous person out there. I think that’s why I was nominated – a lot of people can relate to me and my style. I’m very down to earth – I’m your everyday kinda girl.

And what about your fellow nominees? 

Everyone knows Jo-Ann Strauss is super elegant. I am a little scared by both her and Lalla because they both have such great style and taste. Although, I also have people who look up to me and who I appeal to, so I’m super excited.

Well we think you rock it so you don’t have to worry about a thing! We want to know, where is your favourite place to shop?

I have so many but I would think my current favourite is Zara. When I go overseas I love a store called River Island – they have the cutest stuff ever! Then for trendy pieces I go to Mr Price. I love Mr Price!

When are we most likely to spot you on a shopping spree?

When my daughter’s at school and I have an hour or two free. So it’s usually during the week, after gym. But trust me, I love shopping so I make the time.
