Exclusive: Thabang Molaba On His New Role On #BloodandWater

Homeboy is ready to spread his wings internationally.

TV actor and model Thabang Molaba, is such a heartthrob. It is no secret that the good homie is blessed both with good looks and brains. He has an impeccable fashion taste that has captured the hearts of many fashionistas and, ladies cannot stop drooling and swooning over him because he is just a full package!

Thabang has managed to carve out an inspiring acting career in the industry. The manner in which he goes about delivering his artistry has catapulted his career to greater heights and we cannot wait to see him spread his wings internationally.

Thabang is famous for portraying the character of Gift Mabuza on The Queen Mzansi, the actor recently had a chat with ZAlebs about his character on, Netflix’s African original series, Blood And Water. The famous actor said this lockdown has gotten better because he now has Blood and Water to watch.

The series premiered today and it tells the story of a 16-year-old, Puleng Khumalo, who gets herself transferred to the famous Parkhurst College, to investigate the case of her sister who was abducted at birth.

Since the success of Queen Sono, Africa's first original series, there has been a pandemonium about Blood and Water and Thabang said, he has mixed reactions about the premiere "I am happy, and a nervous at the same time, I won't lie, I'm just feeling everything at once." he said.

Thabang, who portrays the role of Karabo Molapo, an aspiring rapper, who is not living up to his father's expectations, Thabang said KB is the life of his squad.

"KB is the genius of the squad, he is the calm in the storm and, he tries to rationalize everything instead of acting the way other kids are acting, that is essentially who KB is."

Thabang said he can resonate with KB because he is 80% of who he is. The actor said he was excited when he got the role after his agent pranked him that he did not impress the show's makers.

"I went to the first audition and waited for 3 weeks and after that, I was told that I got a callback and my agency pranked me and said I flopped in the first audition, so I need to pull up my socks and when I got to the call back I did the best and I remember 2 days later I got a call when I was with my girlfriend and I was told that you for the role."

Speaking about working with a star-studded cast including the likes of Nasty C and Natasha Thahane, he said it was a great experience. "It was a great experience, I feel like in this journey of acting I am still learning, I'm not really a pro yet even when I do become a pro I will be still learning, so I always pick up from everyone that I get to act with, in whatever show that I do, so it was a great experience learning wise."

This series will definitely catapult his career internationally as it is streaming in many international countries, he said he is excited about that," I am very excited and nervous at the same time because it is playing in many countries. For my career, I feel like it is going to open a lot of doors for me"

The heartthrob says he sees himself portraying renowned characters on big international movies.
