We collaborated with our neighbours Botswana and made one of the classic movies of all time The Gods Must Be Crazy. That said, we don’t hear much from them.
Even so, one of our products, the MultiChoice Talent Factory is changing that as it is helping the continent including Botswana to sharpen its skills in film production.
Serene Serena is a beneficiary of the program and is leading the development of the industry in her country.
Apart from that, she holds several positions in local and international film organisations. One of them is Women In Film Botswana which she started.
She has achieved a lot and is working with local and international stakeholders to put Botswana on the market.
YAZA Africa caught up with Serene Serena and we spoke about Botswana’s film industry as well as traced her journey.
