Nigeria – Davido’s single with Tinashe delayed

🇳🇬😠 • Naija singer, #Davido, has been left frustrated after his music video with #Tinashe had to be pushed back. Although neither artist has confirmed the reason, Nigerian sources are speculating that it has something to do with #Wizkid and #JustineSkye’s new single. @pulsenigeria247 reports: “Sony [Davido’s label] would rather not have two Nigeria-America collaborations hitting the world market on the same day, and competing against each other.”. We’re now waiting on a new release date.

Tanzania – Vanessa Mdee will be at the One Africa Music Festival in Houston

Kenya – Huddah Monroe just released her own brand of condoms

🇰🇪🍆 • #HuddahMonroe wants everybody to practice safe sex. So much so that she’s released her own range of condoms (Yup, you read that right!). #Monroe announced that her signature contraceptive brand, Huddah X Love, will be hitting the shelves “soon”. For those who are interested, the condoms will be “light as a feather” and very well lubricated.

DRC – How Ben Affleck’s organisation is helping women in Congo

🇨🇩🇺🇸 • #American actor, #BenAfleck and his company #EasternCongoInitiative are working together to fight rape in the #DRC. The central #African country has some of the most shocking rape statistics in the world where it’s estimated that more than 1000 women are sexually violated each day. #Affleck and ECI work on campaigns that empower victims and educate youngsters in a bid to eradicate rape in #Congolese communities. Dr Denis Mukwege of Panzi Hospital in Bakavu spoke to US publication #GlamourMagazine and spoke glowingly about Affleck’s company: “#Ben #Affleck is helping Congolese women know their rights and fight for them. … He knows what should be done and what you have to work hard on. It’s not surface; it’s deep.”
